our new christmas tradition: 24 days of books

So full disclosure, I totally stole this idea from a family member and have also seen a couple of bloggers do it so although it isn’t necessarily my own idea, it’s too cute and fun not to share!

Starting today, one of our first family holiday traditions begins! Greylen loves books and so I gathered 24 Christmas books and wrapped them up. Each night leading up to Christmas, she’ll be able to open and read a different one before bed. I’m so excited! The best part is that this doesn’t have to be an expensive tradition at all! I got most of our books at TJMaxx, on Amazon or as gifts. I even found a couple in the Target dollar section! I may swap out a few each year as Grey gets older but for the most part, we will reuse the same books so this was really the only year I had to spend money.

Here are some of the books in our collection:

Elf on the Shelf
The Polar Express
The Littlest Elf
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
Mickey’s Night before Christmas
The Missing Mitten Mystery
The Christmas Wish
The Jolly Christmas Postman
The Snowman
How to Catch an Elf
Madeline’s Christmas
How do Dinosaurs Say Merry Christmas?
Gingerbread Mouse
Peek-a-boo Santa
If I were a Reindeer
The Night before Christmas
Santa Claus is Coming to Cleveland
Llama Llama Holiday Drama
The Christmas Story
Merry Christmas Curious George

I know it’s already December 1st but you could definitely start this anytime. The 12 days leading up to Christmas would be fun!

What holiday traditions does your family enjoy?! I’d love to hear about them all!
